Research interests: regulation of long distance water transport; plant hydraulic architecture and its correlations to gas exchange rates; plant responses to drought stress; ecophysiology of Mediterranean woody plants; leaf hydraulic conductance and its regulation.
Prof. Trifilò is co-Author of 49 scientific papers, published in high quality international journals, 4 book chapters and 38 communications to national and international congresses.
H-index: 28; sum of times cited:1965 (Font: Scopus). Prof. P. Trifilò is a member of: Società Italiana di Biologia Vegetale, Editorial Board of the journals Plants and Forests, Review Board of the journals Tree Physiology and Frontiers in Plant Science and she has contributed several reviews for the different international journals.
Prof. Trifilò received research grants in 2017 and 2020 and has been co-investigator in different Atheneum projects, in two national projects (PRIN 2003, prot. 2003074434_005; PRIN 2005, prot. 2005078553_004), in a project financed by European Community (Controcam, QLRT-1999-31684) and in a project financed by University of Messina, Virginia Commonwealth University and by University of Cordoba.
She was member of national and international committees for the evaluation of Professor positions, opponent of the PhD dissertations as well as she was Referee for evaluation of national and international PhD thesis and of international projects.
