Associate Professor in Animal Breeding and Genetics at the Department of Veterinary Science, University of Messina
2009 - PhD in “Production and Safety of Animal food” with specialization in Animal Genetics (PhD course of the University of Sassari).
During the PhD course he worked for about one year in the Department of the Agricultural and Food Sciences, University of Bologna and for one year in the Animal Science – College of Agricultural and Natural Resource, Michigan State University, East Lansing Michigan, USA, led by Prof. Ernst W. Catherine.
2013-2015-2017 - Visit Researcher at Department of Large Animal and Wildlife Clinical Science, Kasetsart University (Bangkok), (Thailand)
Component of teaching staff of PhD Course in Veterinary Science, Messina.
Teacher of Animal Breeding and Genetics course at Veterinary Medicine degree
Teacher of Applied Genomics in Animal Production at Science and Biotechnologies in Animal Production degree, University of Messina.
Research award: NationaL prize “Archimede Mordenti” and was winner of international prize (ISAG-International scholarship).
Responsible of the Animal Genomic Unit at Department of Veterinary Science, Messina.
He works in the fields of animal genetics and breeding, animal genomics and authenticity of food products. His research interests are mainly towards the application of genomics, metagenomics, metabolomics and phenomics in the animal production sector and for food authentication and traceability.
