BARATTUCCI Anna

Since 2018 Anna Barattucci is Associate Professor (CHIM / 06, Organic Chemistry) at the current Department ChiBioFarAm of the University of Messina. In 2021 took the national research qualification as Full Professor. Her research has focused originally on the generation of transient sulfenic and polysulfenic acids and their use in the stereoselective synthesis of sulfoxides, asymmetrically substituted disulfides, and in the synthesis of polyfunctionalised sulfur compounds such cyclophanes and tripodal compounds. In recent years the previous line has been supplemented by the study of the synthesis of new fluorescent probes (OPEs and BODIPY) functionalized with sugar residues, with the ultimate aim of using them in the biomedical field (bioimaging and PDT). The scientific production of the Dr. Anna Barattucci is represented by 79 articles on international refereed journals, one Patent, 2 book chapters and more than 50 communications at national and international conferences, 15 oral communications held in person (10 national and 5 international), and 10 conference by invitation. She's Topic Editor for the journal Molecules and Referee for: ACS Appl. Nanomat., Antibiotics, Chem. Commun., Chem. Asian J., Dyes Pigm., Eur. J. Org. Chem., Helv. Chim. Acta, Inorg. Chem., Macromol. Biosci., Molecular diversity, Nanomat., Pharm., Tetrahedron, J. Org. Chem.
Dr. Barattucci established scientific collaborations with Italian and foreign lecturers, among them Prof. Patrick Rollin (Universitée of Orleans, France), and Prof. M.C. Carreño and Prof. M. Ribagorda (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain); together with Prof. Carreño she was Supervisor of a PhD thesis in cotutelle (XXVIII cycle). She carried out numerous Research stages at the Departamento de Química Orgánica of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She's supervisor of three PhD thesis in chemistry, 15 Magisterial theses in Chemistry and Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals techniques and 22 three-years degree in Chemistry.
