CORDARO Massimiliano

Massimiliano Cordaro is an Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry (sector CHEM/05A) at the Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences of the University of Messina. He graduated in Chemistry (1998) and obtained a PhD in Chemical Sciences (2003) from the same institution. He has carried out research in the CHIM/06 sector since 2003, becoming a University Researcher in 2008 and an Associate Professor in 2023.
His scientific activity integrates advanced organic synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, and interdisciplinary applications in the fields of energy, bioinorganic chemistry, and nanomaterials. His work focuses on the design of BODIPY fluorophores, supramolecular architectures for innovative photovoltaic devices (DSSCs, Luminescent Solar Concentrators), and sustainable chemistry methodologies. In parallel, he investigates metal–ligand interactions in aqueous solution through NMR spectroscopy, with applications in biomolecule speciation and the development of metal‑complex nanocarriers for drug delivery.
He is the author of 59 scientific publications and 62 conference contributions at national and international meetings.
