In line with one of the objectives of the doctoral programme, aimed at examining the challenges of the third millennium for the protection of rights in the digital and ecological transition, an interdisciplinary research group has been set up under the coordination of Professor Parrinello. The third millennium, defined by the profound challenges of digital and ecological transformations, necessitates a thorough reflection on their ramifications for human rights.

Overview

The relationship between human rights and the environment requires a critical assessment of the underlying factors contributing to climate change, an evaluation of its consequences, and a consideration of the measures implemented to prevent or mitigate its progression. In parallel, the intersection of human rights and emerging technologies demands an in-depth exploration of the societal and legal transformations these technologies are likely to engender, which in turn call for a reinterpretation of both traditional human rights and domestically recognized legal interests.
