CUSMA' PICCIONE Alessandro

He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Law of the University of Messina. Starting from AA. 2009/2010 and until AA. 2019/2020 he has been conferred the teaching of Esegesi delle fonti del Diritto Romano at the Faculty and now Department of Law of the University of Messina and, until AA. 2012-2013, also at the decentralised teaching centre of Patti. In the years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 he was coresponsible for the teaching of Contracts Law in the Roman Legal System. Since the AA. 2013-2014 he has been assigned the teaching of Diritto Romano (Corso Avanzato) and from the AA. 2020/2021 the teaching of Istituzioni di Diritto Romano, at the University Consortium Megara Ibleo (CUMI) of Priolo Gargallo (SR). In the AA. 2019/2020 he was teacher of Diritto Privato Romano and from the AA.2020/2021 he is teacher of Fondamenti Romanistici del Diritto Europeo in the degree course in Employment Consultants and Legal Services Sciences.
Starting from the AA. 2013/2014 (cycle XXIX) and up to now (cycle XXXVIII) he is a member of the Board of Lecturers of the PhD in Legal Sciences at the University of Messina.
On 19 November 2019, at the Univerzitat Karlova in Prague, the Committee of the XI Gérard Boulvert International Romanist Prize awarded him the Prize of the Institut de Droit Romain de l’Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas, for the monograph “Non licet tibi alienigenam accipere”. Studio sulla disparitas cultus tra i coniugi nella riflessione cristiana e nella legislazione tardoantica, Milano, 2017.
He is a member of the editorial board of the journals IVRA and Iuris Antiqui Historia (IAH.).
He regularly acts as referee for journals in his scientific field.
He is a member of the Italian Society of the History of Law (SISD.), the International Association of Late Antiquity Studies (AIST.) and the Accademia Storico-Giuridica Costantiniana (ASGC.).
He is enrolled in REPRISE (Register of Scientific Experts established at the MIUR.), for the Section on Basic Research.
