Research interests

- Multimodal critical discourse analysis in digital media with a focus on the exploration of hate speech, the representation of migration, Islamophobia and othering techniques in both verbal and visual texts and in their interlaced combinations.
- Development of transcription and annotation models to unpack and analyse interactional phenomena of digital environments, with specific reference to video-mediated communication in a multimodal perspective;
- Theoretical analysis of meaning-making and semiosis of communication from a multimodal perspective within the framework of systemic-functional grammar in computer mediated environments.
- Digital literacies and translanguaging in intercultural pedagogical scenarios.
