Prof. Annamaria Visco is Associate Professor for the SSD ING-IND/22 (science and technology of materials) at the Engineering Department of the University of Messina (UniMe) to which she belongs. Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry at the University of Messina obtained on 12/5/1991 with 110/110 cum laude.
-Habilitation to practice as a Chemist obtained in April 1992.
- Specialization in "Chemical Process Technologies" on 20/12/1993 with a score of 50/50.
- PhD in "Chemistry of Materials for Special Uses" on 07/01/1997.
-Winner of the competition in the role of university researcher for the SSD: ING-IND22-Science and Technology of Materials (ex I14B) at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Messina (D.R. of 8/7/1998) in service since 15 /9/1998 and confirmed from 15/9/2001 (D.R. of 18/2/2002).
- Winner of the competition for the role of associate professor (D.R.1594 dated 17.06.2014 and D.R. 2477 dated 25.09.2014) for the SSD ING-IND-22, she has been employed as full professor since 01.11.2014 in the same SSD at the Department of Engineering of the University of Messina.
- qualified on 11/13/2020 on the basis of the ASN (National Scientific Qualification) for the role of full professor in the sector: SC 09/D1, SSD ING-IND/22 with validity from 11.13.2020 to 11.13. 2030.

Scientific research activity
It essentially concerns the modification and chemical-physical and mechanical characterization of polymeric materials, bioplastics, nano-composite materials, polymer blends and (nano) composite materials with a polymer matrix for biomedical, environmental, naval applications, etc. in the materials engineering sector, accompanied by the study of suitable production methods and/or technologies.
