Prof.ssa Loredana Ferluga is full Professor of Labour Law - SSD IUS/07 - Department of Law in Messina, where she teaches Labour Law in the same Degree, in the degree course for Labour Consultants and in the post-graduate School of legal professions.

2022: Component in the project “Europe for hope - Eur(h)ope - UE luogo geopolitico di migrazione solidale ed economicamente sostenibile” (Scientific coordinator: prof.ssa G. Vitale), awarded of the national prize “University 4 EU-il tuo futuro la nostra Europa”, funded by the Department for European Policies for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

2021: funded PhD project “Digital innovation and the right to disconnect: Innovazione digitale e diritto alla disconnessione: constructive details of an open question”, by the National Operational “Research and Innovation 2014-2020” – Measure IV.4 “PhD scholarship and research contracts on innovation”.

2021: funded PhD project “The supplementary social security”, by INPS on INPS, welfare and benefits – Supplementary social security Law.

2021 and 2019: FFABR Unime PO 2021 and FFABR Unime PA 2019 (Funding of activity and research in the University 2021 and 2019).

2020-2021: component of the international research group on “International trade and work”, coordinated by proff. W. Sanguineti (University of Salamanca) and E. Gragnoli (University of Parma).

From 2008-09 to 1999: has organized funded research programs for the University (PRA) on the following topics: The reform of public management in the process of increasing productivity and excellence in public (financial year 2008/09); Work, family and disability (2006/2007); The discrimination of homosexuals, the reform of the labour market (2005); The certification of employment (2003); Certification: a tool for control of new types of contracts (2004); The part-time contract in the season of flexibility (2002); Labour relations and co-operative societies: the protection of the partner worker (2001); Work in cooperative societies (2000); The right to representation by the union representative (1999).

2007: component as associate in Palermo PRIN funding (title of the operating unit project “Social safeguards of income. Guaranteed minimum income” - the business unit manager: Prof. A. Bellavista - University of Palermo; Scientific coordinator: Prof. F. Santoni - University of Naples).

2007: part of the project “Icarus II – Messina” - FOR Initiative 17: Training of teachers for high schools, to conduct the following activities: “Locate the “minimum knowledge” needed to successfully attend the various degree programs in your faculty” and “Explain the “minimum knowledge” needed to successfully attend the various degree programs available in your faculty”.

2007 and 2008: coordinator of a study, in the InnovaBIC Srl, for setting up a database for the enterprises in Southern Italy.

2000: component as associate in Messina PRIN funding (title of the operating unit project “Mandates and trusty relationship: compared experiences” - the business unit manager: Prof. R. Tommasini - University of Messina; Scientific coordinator: Prof. F. Alcaro - University of Florence).

Quality and impact on the scientific production:
Possess the qualifying requirements to be a component of the Board for ASN 2021-2023 (National Qualifying Examination 2021-2023) in the area of Labour Law, 12/B - S.S.D. IUS/07.
Published 60 scientific studies on refeered journals, as shown in the IRIS catalogue, all related to the own academic field with a national and international editorial position (peer reviewing process). The most of essays are published in journal rated as “Classe A” by Anvur (the Italian rating agency for scientific journals) using the VQR (Research Quality Evaluation) system.
The three books are published in a series and the book Protection of worker and job discipline, Giuffrè, Milan (2012) is in a peer-reviewed series. The publications as a whole show originality that contibutes significantly to the advancement of the research topics and can be considered of High quality according to the academic recruitmnet field. (For the VQR 2011-2014, the publications obtained a “high” level of evaluation)

Academic year 2008-09 and academic year 2009-2010: Director of the Master in "Labour Lawyer" (Faculty of Law of Messina). Responsible of the participants attending the hearing of European Court of Justice whose problems related to the freedom of establishment and the freedom to provide services, the acquisition of the title of doctor specialist and the salary during the training period were discussed.
At this Master Professor Ferluga also gave lectures.
