In September-October 2014 as part of the EU-US Atlantic Program Transatlantic Degree Consortium she was visiting professor in Richmond, at Virginia Commonwealth University (USA). She is part of research programs of significant national interest regularly funded by the MIUR (the last one is the PRIN 2010-2011). She is a member of the Association of Italianists (ADI). She is a member of the Peloritana dei Pericolanti dell’Accademia di Messina. In December 2017 she obtained the national qualification to be an associate professor also for the sector of Italian Philology. In May 2021 she obtained the national qualification to be full professor for the italian literature sector. She mainly dealt with humanism and renaissance, favoring the study of the fortune of Latin and Greek classics between the 15th and 16th centuries, with works on Carlo Valgulio, Tommaso Schifaldo and Pontico Virunio, a humanist from the Ferrara area, the latter, of which she has reconstructed the environment and the literary and philological interests with a research merged into a recent monograph. She studied Leopardi's prose, publishing the results of this survey. She has dealt with the poetic production of Giovanni Marrasio and she has published several critical essays on literature and philology in Sicily, and in Messina in particular, between the 15th and 16th centuries, reconstructing the profile of various scholars, such as Francesco Faraone, Bernardino Rizzo, Nicolò Valla, which orbited around Costantino Lascari. She also worked on Giovanni Boccaccio's "De montibus [...]". Another sphere of the survey concerns the theater in the Renaissance: it completed the edition of Giovanbattista Gelli's "Ecuba" (a vulgarization taken from the Latin version of Erasmus of the Euripidean tragedy), handed down by a sixteenth-century print; she has also written a critical essay on this work by Gelli and an essay on the comedy Eudemoni by Giovan Battista Giraldi Cinthio, of which she is preparing the critical edition. In recent years she has studied the sixteenth-century debate on aristotelian Poetics, especially in relation to the theories of the comic, the first result of which was a recently published monograph, which was followed by several other contributions.
