The Nanomaterials laboratory is equipped with instrumentation for the preparation of nanostructured materials starting from the synthesis of colloidal solutions, polymeric materials, films and nanostructured surfaces. In particular, it is possible to carry out the following activities:
a) Deposition with the ultrasound "spray-casting" technique. With this technique, the nanocolloid, pushed by a hydraulic system, feeds an ultrasound nozzle (operating at frequencies of about 100 kHz) causing the fine nebulization of the liquid, reducing it to even sub-micrometric droplets containing the nanoparticles, which reach the substrate to settle on.
b) "spin coating" and "dip coating" systems to obtain thin layers of materials starting from liquid solutions (eg polymeric) by progressive evaporation of the solvent part.
