Il percorso di integrazione degli immigrati a Messina attraverso il processo di inclusione socio-culturale

Immigrant integration is a complex concept that is fundamentally tied to the ongoing debate about the role of immigrants in our society. The aim of the study was to investigate the immigrants’ integration in Messina. Data were collected from the XV population Census. We have built appropriate statistical indicators based on a set of several indices. Whereas the immigrant nationality is an important factor we have built an index based on the distances between the different countries of origin. In order to explain the immigrants integration level we have estimated a structural equation model.
