SWEET'S SYNDROME AND ERYTHEMA NODOSUM IN PATIENT WITH CYSTITIS CAUSED BY KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIAE

The simultaneous occurrence of Sweet's syndrome (SS) and erythema nodosum (EN) is rare. Only 14 biopsy-proved cases in which both reactive dermatoses presented together are reported, in association with a wide variety of systemic conditions. Despite the common link between each entity and infections, there are no reports of their association in patients with urinary tract infective diseases. The present report deals with a case of Sweet's syndrome and erythema nodosum associated with a cystitis caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae and reviews the literature for similar cases. To our knowledge, this is the first report of an association between urinary tract infections and two concurrent reactive dermatoses.
