Abstract:
The main objective of this paper consists in outlining a
philosophy of body focused on the thought of great contemporary authors as
Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Freud. We will see how important is their
contribution in the field of corporeality and its rehabilitation: body as the place
of volition, body as a big reason and body as the receptacle of instincts.
Nietzsche precisely occupies a strategic position between Schopenhauer and
Freud, since he is the first philosopher who has introduced a theory of the body,
namely a reflection in which the body is the main subject. Thanks to Nietzsche
we will move along the ontology of the body – I have not got a body, I am a
body – of course in relation to Schopenhauer’s position, before, and Freud’s
analysis, after. Key words will be the will and the will to power, the ego and the
self, Superego and Id, the body wisdom and the instinctual body.
