COMPANION ANIMALS Clinical diagnosis and classification of the risk of infectious diseases in hospitalized animals, based on the transmissibility of the agent to other animals and their zoonotic potential (2 hours). Standard operating procedures for animals to access the isolation and management unit for hospitalized animals (2 hours). Safety procedures in the small animal isolation rooms of the OVUD: application of personal protective equipment (PPE) (1 hours). Hygiene and disinfection protocols during the hospitalization of infected animals in the OVUD (1 hour). Application of therapeutic and vaccination protocols (1 hour). Prevention of the antibiotic-resistance (2 hours). Special waste management: main rules, management and disposal (1 hour). LARGE ANIMALS Management of hospitalized horses affected by infectious disease (2 hours) Biosecurity tools to be adopted in the farm: means of transport, living environments of the animals (2 hours) Pharmaco-surveillance and antibiotic resistance (2 hours). Control and prevention of the main infectious diseases: therapy and management of clinical cases; vaccination protocols (2 hours).
