Course Objectives

The educational objectives focus on the student's acquisition of knowledge on: - nosographic framing and classification of periodontal diseases; - recognition of clinical and radiographic parameters of major diagnostic interest; - basic concepts and advanced procedures related to periodontal instrumentation and therapy; - major periodontal surgery procedures, including gingival surgery, resective and reconstructive and plastic reconstructive surgery.

Course Prerequisites

Knowledge regarding: periodontal anatomy, histology and microbiology; etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal diseases. Basic concepts and procedures related to nonsurgical periodontal therapy.
