• provide students basic knowledge about the design of orthodontic appliances and about the principles underlying their therapeutic mechanism; • enable student to acquire fundamental concepts of orthodontic biomechanics and knowledge of biologic mechanism that are important to understand dental movement inside the alveolar bone; • raising student’s awareness about the necessary skills that are essential in order to plan and to conduct an orthodontic treatment; • provide student’s necessary information to acquire the skills to treat different type of malocclusion and with different type of orthodontic appliances. • provide students specific indications about how to treat orthodontic patients according the most efficient and effective treatment protocols reported in the scientific literature along with the most the most effective protocol for orthodontic retention.
