According to the priorities set by the GRINS- Growing Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Extended
Partnership, Spoke 6 LOW CARBON POLICIES this project REWARD-ME – Reducing Emissions
through WAste pRactices and new business moDels – Measuring Effects will provide accurate
measurement and multidisciplinary analysis of the effects of the adoption of sustainable waste
management practices on the emission reduction by taking into account the role of composting
communities in biowaste. Since composting communities are considered an appropriate strategic
option for improving waste management, the project will analyze both supply and demand factors,
enabling the implementation of composting practices to reduce environmental impacts. Specific
attention will be devoted to 1) strategies for active engagement of consumers in the reduction of
waste production, and to designing behavioral incentives, nudging, and information policies for
sustainable waste management supporting low carbon policies within regions; 2) analysis of the
business models of composting communities and related action to improve the development of green
and sustainable ecosystems and infrastructure for the circular economy, including also infrastructures;
