According to the Preamble of the 2030 Agenda, which sets the objective of “respecting human rights for al”, an interdisciplinary research group has been set up to examine the issue of the Human Rights and emerging challenges. The results of the research have been incorporated into an edited volume compiling the reflections on human rights issues which have been analysed or resolved by supranational case law

Overview

The issue of human rights pervades all branches of law, and, in light of the interpretative approaches and reasoning adopted by judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, it becomes imperative to critically examine the extent to which individual rights are not only guaranteed and duly protected, but, above all, meaningfully promoted in practice. Such an inquiry entails assessing both the formal legal safeguards and their effective implementation, thereby situating the protection of human rights within a broader framework of normative, institutional, and practical considerations.
