The initiative was born within the mission of the Department of Cognitive Sciences, Psychological, Pedagogical and Cultural Studies of the University of Messina, in line with the University's particular attention to gender issues, along with the choice of the Single Guarantee Committee to compose a broader involvement of the Departments. The first edition of the seminar series on the theme entitled "Pluralisms. Reflections on Bodies, Policies and Representations of Gender" originates in the year 2020-21. In the “editions” section of the website, it is possible to view all the activities already carried out ( I Edition 2021 - II Edition 2022 - III Edition 2023 - IV Edition 2024).

Overview

The proposed course is characterized by its markedly interdisciplinary nature and aims to combine and foster the integrations of different approaches from different scientific disciplines, starting with those related to cognitive sciences and cultural studies that distinguish COSPECS and its research activities. The reflections, are divided into three general thematic areas that investigate three closely interconnected dimensions: political, communicative and cognitive. The intent of the seminar series is to give voice, restoring weight and value, to the plurality and complexity of the reality of genders, bodies and plural identities.
