Control of territory and in Europe (XVII-XX centuries)

The Messina office is the local unit responsible for a wide research project, involving the universities of Milan, Bergamo, Genoa, Messina, Padua and Pisa. The research area concerns the history of the police forces and, more generally, the control of territory and crime. Analyzing these issues from the Middle Ages to the Contemporary Age is the fundamental aim of the research program that, through conferences and seminars, is also enhanced by the involvement of Italian and European scholars.
