During the month of December 2019, at the University of Messina, the works relating to a study conference dedicated to the themes of regionalism took place, a valuable opportunity for in-depth study and comparison between authoritative exponents of legal science and young researchers.
In a historical moment in which the scientific community was still used to a fruitful debate centered on the communion of opinions and thoughts, shared among the members of the Academy through the use of a dialectical relationship based on the sharing not only of ideas, but also of spaces, physical places and social relationships, days reserved for the free exchange of knowledge and theories, the study session was accompanied by a convivial moment, an opportunity to strengthen human relationships, a source of sincere friendship, loyalty and mutual sympathy.
Thus was born the "Table of Messina", a (not only) physical (but also symbolic) element, where various courses of the typical Sicilian culinary tradition followed one another, which saw around it the genesis of a group made up of passionate and willing scholars, all united by the right balance between youth and experience, sacrifice and awareness of the commitment already made and still to be dedicated, in the years to come, to the consolidation of an increasingly fruitful cultural background.
Animated by resourcefulness and self-denial, in the course of the following months, matured the desire to "prevent" that the pandemic could also negatively influence stimuli and solicitations in those who, despite everything, continued to firmly believe in the responsibility of contributing, even if only minimally, to the promotion of analysis, the critical study of problematic issues and the communion of knowledge.
The research group therefore concentrated on the theme of the paradox to be declined with reference to the various scientific sectors referable to the components, professors of the Universities of Messina, Catanzaro, Milan, Naples, Pavia and Sassari.
