The fight against climate change and environmental damage is an urgent and therefore highly debated issue. The Department of Political and Legal Sciences, thanks to its interdisciplinary vocation, has carried out various activities on these issues, such as, for example, a participatory laboratory entitled "Environmental protection for the future of Europe", which promoted the debate among young people on the theme of the environment and renewable energy.
As part of these issues, the Department of Political and Legal Sciences, winner of the University 4 EU award - Your future, our Europe funded by the European Policies Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, organized the 24 and 25 February 2022 the event Planning a greener future, in collaboration with the European Documentation Center. The initiative is part of the Conference on the Future of Europe and involved students of the Department and students of some high schools.
On the afternoon of the 24th, the students carried out guided tours and workshops at the Horcynus Orca Literary Park and the smART recyclING Factory.
On the 25th morning, however, a plenary session was held in the premises of the Department inaugurated by the director of the SCIPOG Department prof. Mario Calogero, and following the students, divided into groups, elaborated their ideas and proposals on the themes of the green economy and sustainable development, and then exhibited them again in the plenary at the end of the meeting.
