The research activities carried out concern the development and application of methodologies for the analysis of transport systems, the management of traffic on urban networks, spatial planning and the evaluation of transport systems. The results of the research carried out have been the subject of publications in reviews and books and presented in international and national conferences. In particular, the main topics of his activities are:
- the static and dynamic assignment of traffic to congested road networks;
- transit networks assignment models;
- analysis and methodologies for evaluating transport demand;
- evaluation of the performance of transit systems;
- analysis of distribution and modal choice in freight transport;
- analysis of transport systems in emergency conditions;
- simulation of the evacuation of buildings and areas at risk;
- functional assessment of transport systems.
