Description
Sebastiano Piero Calimeri was born in Tortorici (ME) on 20.04.1958.
He is Confirmed Researcher / Aggregate Prof. (SSD MED / 42 - General and Applied Hygiene) and belongs to the Department of Biomedical, Dental, Morphological and Functional Imaging Sciences of the University of Messina.
He also carries out welfare duties, as a Biologist Manager, at the UOSD of Virology of the University Hospital "G. Martino” of Messina, with functions of coordination and direct professional and managerial responsibility
On 30.11.1981 he graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Messina. From 06.04.1984 he has been registered with the National Order of Biologists.
On 30.06.1984 he obtained the Specialization in Applied Microbiology at the University of Messina.
From 01.06.1987 to 31.05.1988 he is the holder of a health research grant aimed at the Department of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Messina.
From 02.01.1990 to 12.08.2001 he holds the role of Technical Officer at the same Department.
In the academic year 1996/97 he was appointed Expert of the Matter for the disciplinary sector F22A -General and Applied Hygiene- and he was a member of commissions for exams.
Since 13.08.2001 he has held the role of Confirmed Researcher / Adjunct Professor (SSD MED / 42) at the Department of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the University of Messina.
Since 1999 he has been carrying out continuous teaching activities in the scientific-disciplinary sector MED/42- General and Applied Hygiene, in various three-year degree courses, master's degree courses, specialization schools, at the University of Messina.
He has participated in congresses, seminars and training and refresher courses.
The scientific activity carried out in recent years is documented by printed publications, in national and international journals, relating to Epidemiology and the Prevention of Infectious Diseases, Hospital Hygiene, Environmental Hygiene and Health Education.
