AMENTA Giombattista

Full Professor of Didactics and Special Pedagogy.

Qualifications and specialisations.

In 1988 he obtained his Baccalaureate in Educational Sciences from the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome (with Votazione Summa cum Laude), in 1990 he obtained a degree in Psychology from the same University (with Votazione Summa cum Laude) (Rapporteur, Prof. Luigi Calonghi).
He then attended the four-year specialization course in Psychotherapy at the Scuola Superiore in Psicologia Clinica SSPC-IFREP in Rome (Director, Prof. Pio Scilligo).
In 1988 he obtained his PhD in Pedagogy (IX cycle) at the University of Rome III (Tutor, Prof. F. Montuschi).

Role, training and research.

In 2001 G. Amenta took up his position as Researcher of the S.S.D. M09W at the University of Palermo and, since 1 November 2006, as Associate Professor in the S.S.D. M-Ped /03 at the University of Enna.
On November 1, 2011 he took up his position as Extraordinary Professor and, after confirmation, as Full Professor in the S.S.D. M-Ped/03.
At the University of Enna he also held some institutional positions:
- Dean of the Faculty of Classical, Linguistic and Formation Studies from the academic year 2013/14 to December 4, 2018;
- Coordinator of XXVII and XXVIII cycles of the PhD in Linguistic Studies and Intercultural Education;
- President of the Degree Course in Educational Sciences in the academic year 2007/08;
- President of the Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences and Techniques from the academic year 2010/11 to the academic year 2012/13;
- President of the Bachelor of Science in Primary Education from the academic year 2013/14 to the academic year 2014/15.
- Director of the specialization courses for support offered in the academic years 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2017/18, 2018/19.
From 1998 to 2001 he worked at the Orientation and Training Center of the University of Catania (Director, Prof. S. Di Nuovo).
