Born in Acireale, Italy, on January 20, 1959. 1981: Majoring in Biology, University of Messina. 1987: Master degree in Microbiology and Microbiological Techniques, University of Messina. 1987: research fellowship at the Public and Health Department Palermo, Sicily. 1988-1990: research fellowship at the University of Messina. 1988-1994: Professor at the “School for Prefessional Nurses” and at the “School for laboratory tchnicians” Papardo Hospital, Messina. 1991: gratuated technician at the Istitute of Medical Microbiology, Messina. From 2004 to date: assitent professor at the “Pathology and experimental Microbiology Department” University of Messina. Main fields of research are as follows: - Serological, epidemiological and diagnostic aspects in the field of microbiology. - Regulation of new diagnostic methodologies. - Investigation of immuno-pathogenetic mechanisms in the infextivological and neoplastic field. - Role of the pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytockines in the infectiones caused by group B Streptococci.
