Silvia A. Scandurra is Associate Professor of History of Pedagogy and Education at the Department of Cognitive, Psychological, Pedagogical Sciences and Cultural Studies of the University of Messina, and Researcher at the UNESCO Chair–UV Global Education in the Mediterranean: Studies for Peace, Interculturality and Sustainability, University of Valencia.
Her research interests, from a historical and comparative perspective, focus on the history of schooling, with particular attention to schools subsidized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce (19th–20th centuries); education for democracy and the political and social dimensions of educational processes.
Among her numerous publications are the monographs S.A.
