CONDELLO Angela

Angela Condello is a legal philosopher. She held a Jean Monnet Module on rights and critical legal thinking (2017-2020) and a Jean Monnet Project (2016-2017) on labour and social identity. She published 5 monographs (e.g. "Analogica. Il doppio legame tra diritto e analogia", 2018 and "Il diritto come metodo e la scienza algoritmica. Una critica a partire da Bobbio e Scarpelli", 2022) and many edited journal issues (Law and Lit., LawTextCulture, Riv. di Estetica, IJSL), on top of volumes – e.g. "Sensing the Nation's Law" (2018), "Il denaro e i suoi inganni" (2018, Spanish 2020), Money, Social Ontology and Law (with J.R. Searle and M. Ferraris, 2019), "Femminismo giuridico. Teorie e problemi" (2019, English 2022), Post-Truth, Philosophy and Law (2019, Turkish 2025), Law, Labour and the Humanities (2019), New Rhetorics for Contemporary Legal Discourse ( 2020). Two monographs are forthcoming (2025) on justice and datafication.
"Pensiero umano e intelligenza artificiale" (J.R. Searle), translated by A. Condello, was published in 2023. "Vita e parole. La violenza e la discesa nell'ordinario" (V. Das), translated by A. Condello, came out in summer 2024.
She writes entries for the Research Handbook for Law and Literature, the Elgar Encyclopedia of Law and Literature, the Handbook of Legal Semiotics, the Routledge Handbook for AI Law and Society, and the Encyclopedia of the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy.
She sits on the board of Law and Literature, Law Text Culture, Int. Journal for the Semiotics of Law, coordinates Teoria e critica della regolazione sociale, on top of interdisciplinary book series (e.g. Law and Visual Studies). She co-directs "Sotto Sopra la Legge", (Mimesis) and "Gender, Justice and Legal Feminism" (Springer). She is the scientific curator of the Rapporto sullo stato dei diritti (Italy). She writes a column on Corriere della sera on gender, law, and politics and serves as a consultant for companies and institutions on ethics, rights, and AI.
