Description
Alessandra Tommasini, born in Messina (Me) on 28.10.1972, graduated in law on 08.07.1994 at the Faculty (now Department) of Law of the University of Messina with top marks and honors, as well as the right to publish.
In 1994 she was awarded a six-month scholarship, offered by the Bonino-Pulejo Foundation of Messina, on the research topic "The resolution of agricultural contracts for serious non-fulfilment", enjoyed at the Department of Common Property Law (Prof. Raffaele Rossi) - Federico II University of Naples.
In September 1997, she passed the exam for admission to the three-year PhD in "Private Economic Law" (Cycle XII) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Catania, obtaining the title of PhD on 11.06.2001.
On 21 October 1997, she obtained the qualification to practice as a lawyer. From 28.01.1998 to date, she has been registered with the Bar Association of Messina.
In 1997, she was appointed "expertise" for the discipline pertaining to the scientific disciplinary sector IUS/03 (Agricultural Law), carrying out an intense and continuous activity of teaching collaboration, with tasks of assistance to students (also with regard to the preparation of theses and dissertations), participation in examination and degree commissions.
In 2001 she won the competition for a position as university researcher at the Faculty (now Department) of Law of the University of Messina for the scientific disciplinary sector IUS/03 - Agricultural Law - and began work with effect from 16 October 2001. She was confirmed in the role as of 16.10.2004 and opted for full-time employment from 16 October 2001 to 13.12.2010.
She was an associate professor under the laws in force continuously from the entry into force of law no. 230/2005 until December 13, 2010.
In 2005, she was a member of the Working Group for the drafting of the Agricultural Code on behalf of IDAIC (Institute of International and Comparative Agricultural Law) (now CNR), editing - in particular - a part of book VI relating to the agricultural enterprise.
From the year 2006-2007 to date, she has been a member of the Commission for the Tutoring Service of the Faculty of Law (now Department) of the University of Messina and holds the position of tutor teacher with the task of guiding enrolled students in the orientation and tutoring activity throughout their entire course of study.
In June 2010, she was found suitable in the comparative evaluation procedure for a position as associate professor announced by the Faculty (now Department) of Law of the University of Messina, scientific disciplinary sector IUS/03-Agricultural Law, and was hired as a full professor with effect from 14 December 2010. After the three-year period, in 2014, she was confirmed in the role of associate professor.
She obtained the national scientific qualification for the first band in the period 2016/2018 in the competitive sector 12E3 (Economic, financial and agri-food market law), starting from 04.05.2018. As of 30.12.2021, she was included in the role of full professors.
She has a good knowledge of the English language.

- From the academic year 2015/2016 to the academic year 2018/2019, she was part of the Review Group of the Master's Degree Course of the Department of Law of the University of Messina, which is no longer operational.
- From the academic year 2015/2016 to date, she is part of the Quality Assurance Management Group of the Master's Degree Course of the Department of Law of the University of Messina.
- For the academic years 2021/2022 and 2022/2023, she was Vice Coordinator of the Single-Cycle Master's Degree Course in Law.
-For the three-year period 2023-2026, she is the Coordinator of the Master's Degree Course in Innovation and Sustainability Law at the Department of Law of the University of Messina.
- With decree no. Rep. 3739/2024, she was appointed member of the University Commission for Sustainability.

- In 2024, with D.D. n. 2799/24 - prot. n. 125128 of 07.10.2024, she was appointed member of the Commission for the public selection, by qualifications and exams, for the recruitment of n. 1 unit of technical-administrative staff, with a permanent contract, with a position in the area of officials, professional profile of the technical-IT sector, with adequate IT skills to also support teaching.
- In 2025, she acted as external evaluator of the doctoral thesis entitled "Legal profiles of labeling and information to consumers of food on animal welfare in farms" by candidate Marco Gjomarkaj (Doctorate in "Rights and protection in globalized markets" - XXXVII cycle, University of Bari "Aldo Moro", Department of Law).

From 2012 to 2015 he worked as an anonymous CINECA reviewer for research products for the purposes of VQR.

- Workshop held on 29 April 2021 entitled “Support measures for economic sectors in crisis and the compression of freedom of economic initiative: protection of the company and tax profiles”.
- Unime Sustainability Day 2021: lesson on “Right to food, sustainable production and markets” on 08.10.2021.
- Meeting on the theme “The challenge of ecological transition begins with sustainable agriculture and food” held on 16 March 2022 as part of the PCTO program (Paths for transversal skills and orientation) (Fundamental rights and ecological transition path).

-“Work Travels With Us”, an event organized on 05.06.2024 in Messina by the Labor Consultants and sponsored by the Municipality of Messina to connect young people and the labor market.
- 'The Sustainability Festival 2024' (II edition) which took place in Messina on 16, 17 and 18 May at Villa Dante, the city's green lung, aimed at all citizens. The event represented an important opportunity to raise awareness of the main issues of sustainability as well as an opportunity to share ideas and best practices among all local, regional and national stakeholders. In particular, on 17 May, from 10:00 to 11:00, a round table entitled 'Green jobs: the professions of the future' was organized in collaboration with ALuMnime of Messina, during which - among other things - the topic of sustainability was discussed, an essential condition for competitiveness for all businesses and/or economic-business realities.
- 'Open DAY 2024' and 'UniME Sustainability Day 2024', held in Messina during the Orientation days organized from the University of Messina on May 20 and 21, 2024, at the Papardo Campus (Messina).

In 1994 she was awarded a six-month scholarship, offered by the Bonino-Pulejo Foundation of Messina, on the research topic "The resolution of agricultural contracts for serious non-fulfilment", enjoyed at the Department of Common Property Law (Prof. Raffaele Rossi) - Federico II University of Naples.
In September 1997, she passed the exam for admission to the three-year PhD in "Private Economic Law" (Cycle XII) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Catania, obtaining the title of PhD on 11.06.2001.
On 21 October 1997, she obtained the qualification to practice as a lawyer. From 28.01.1998 to date, she has been registered with the Bar Association of Messina.
In 1997, she was appointed "expertise" for the discipline pertaining to the scientific disciplinary sector IUS/03 (Agricultural Law), carrying out an intense and continuous activity of teaching collaboration, with tasks of assistance to students (also with regard to the preparation of theses and dissertations), participation in examination and degree commissions.
In 2001 she won the competition for a position as university researcher at the Faculty (now Department) of Law of the University of Messina for the scientific disciplinary sector IUS/03 - Agricultural Law - and began work with effect from 16 October 2001. She was confirmed in the role as of 16.10.2004 and opted for full-time employment from 16 October 2001 to 13.12.2010.
She was an associate professor under the laws in force continuously from the entry into force of law no. 230/2005 until December 13, 2010.
In 2005, she was a member of the Working Group for the drafting of the Agricultural Code on behalf of IDAIC (Institute of International and Comparative Agricultural Law) (now CNR), editing - in particular - a part of book VI relating to the agricultural enterprise.
From the year 2006-2007 to date, she has been a member of the Commission for the Tutoring Service of the Faculty of Law (now Department) of the University of Messina and holds the position of tutor teacher with the task of guiding enrolled students in the orientation and tutoring activity throughout their entire course of study.
In June 2010, she was found suitable in the comparative evaluation procedure for a position as associate professor announced by the Faculty (now Department) of Law of the University of Messina, scientific disciplinary sector IUS/03-Agricultural Law, and was hired as a full professor with effect from 14 December 2010. After the three-year period, in 2014, she was confirmed in the role of associate professor.
She obtained the national scientific qualification for the first band in the period 2016/2018 in the competitive sector 12E3 (Economic, financial and agri-food market law), starting from 04.05.2018. As of 30.12.2021, she was included in the role of full professors.
She has a good knowledge of the English language.

-“Work Travels With Us”, an event organized on 05.06.2024 in Messina by the Labor Consultants and sponsored by the Municipality of Messina to connect young people and the labor market.
- 'The Sustainability Festival 2024' (II edition) which took place in Messina on 16, 17 and 18 May at Villa Dante, the city's green lung, aimed at all citizens. The event represented an important opportunity to raise awareness of the main issues of sustainability as well as an opportunity to share ideas and best practices among all local, regional and national stakeholders. In particular, on 17 May, from 10:00 to 11:00, a round table entitled 'Green jobs: the professions of the future' was organized in collaboration with ALuMnime of Messina, during which - among other things - the topic of sustainability was discussed, an essential condition for competitiveness for all businesses and/or economic-business realities.
- 'Open DAY 2024' and 'UniME Sustainability Day 2024', held in Messina during the Orientation days organized from the University of Messina on May 20 and 21, 2024, at the Papardo Campus (Messina).
