LAGANA' Pasqualina

Born in Vibo Valentia (Calabria, Italy) April, 12, 1963. In 1986 Graduated in Biological Sciences. Specialist in Gen, Pathology and in Chemistry and Food Technologies. In 2013 she obtained a Master in "Epidemiology and Biostatistics" at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Rome). She followed stage at the laboratories of the Life Sciences of the Joint Research Center in Ispra, at Istituto Superiore Sanità (Rome) and at Institute of Microbiology of Pavia. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, she is employed by the Dpt of Hygiene since 1999. Since 2013 Coordinator of the Degree in Dietetics. Member of the Food Safety and of Hospital Infection Commission of the University Hospital. Responsible of the Microbiological Food Analysis of the University Hospital. Teacher of “Epidemiology” and of “General and Applied Hygiene” in various Course of Degree and in postgraduate Medical Schools. Since 2016 Responsible of the Regional Reference Laboratory for clinical and environmental monitoring of Legionellosis. From January 2017 to date she is a member of the Regional Commission for the revision and implementation of the Guidelines for the Surveillance and Control of Legionellosis. From 2014 to 2020 she obtained the national funding of 3 research projects, two of which on the control of Legionellosis in the healthcare environment and one on the "Evaluation of the Microbial Hazard in Dental Offices". Head of the UO 2 for the PNRA Project 2016. She is the author / co-author of over 100 publications, 6 books and 18 chapters and of numerous reports, communications and posters presented at various national and international conferences. Research Interests: He is interested in experimental microbiological investigations on clinical samples, food and environments with particular attention to the phenomenon of antibiotic resistance. Of particular importance to the research conducted for the environmental monitoring of legionellosis in hospital and community.
