GITTO Lara Nicoletta Angela

Lara Gitto was born in Milazzo (ME) on 02/02/1974. Graduated in Law at the University of Messina, she obtained the Master of Science in "International Business and Economic Integration" at the University of Reading (United Kingdom) in 1999, the Master in "Health Economics" at the University of Messina in 2000 and the PhD in Public Economics (XXV cycle) at the University of Catania with a thesis on the quality of hospital care in 2013.
She was a research fellow at the "Tor Vergata" University of Rome from 2006 to 2018 on issues of Health Economics. She has also been coordinator and scientific tutor of Masters and research projects in Health Economics and Management, carried out at the University of Messina and has carried out teaching activities in university degree and post-graduate courses since 2001/2002.
She is the author of over one hundred and fifty scientific publications in international and national journals and referee for numerous journals.
She has been appointed by the Italian Ministry of Health as President of the Scientific and Economic Commission of the Italian Agency for medicinal products.
She has been a member of the board of directors of the Italian Association of Health Economics in the period 2014-2017 and 2020-2023 and auditor of the association in the period 2017-2020. She has been/is currently member of scientific associations.

She is component of the Commissione Paritetica docenti-studenti. She is referent Erasmus for the cds LM77 in "Innovazione, Imprenditorialità e Turismo".
