MINUTOLI Fabio

The professor Fabio Minutoli is full professor at the Department of Biomedical and Dental Sciences and Morphofunctional Imaging of the University of Messina (competition sector 06/I1; SSD: MED/36).

Head of the Nuclear Medicine Unit at AOU G. Martino - Messina.

Director of the School of Specialization in Nuclear Medicine of the University of Messina for the three-year academic year 2023/2026 (prot. 26559/2023 del 27.02.2023). He was Director of the School of Specialization in Nuclear Medicine of the University of Messina for the three-year academic year 2020/2023 (D.R. 0007710 of 23.01.2020).

He was Coordinator of the Degree Course in Techniques of Medical Radiology, Imaging and Radiotherapy (L/SNT3) of the University of Messina for the academic three-year periods 2018/2021 (DR 2153/2018; prot. 0076281 of 11.10.2018) and 2015/2018 (D.R. 2881/2015 of 18.12.2015).

He is a specialist in:
- Nuclear Medicine (specialization achieved on 10 November 2006 at the University of Messina with marks 50/50 and honors);
- Radiology - Radiodiagnostic specialization (specialization achieved on 27 October 2000 at the University of Messina with marks 50/50 and honors).

He has carried out periods of study at prestigious Italian and foreign Institutions:
- Nuclear Medicine Therapy at the Nuclear Medicine Division of the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan, directed by prof. Giovanni Paganelli (2005);
- RM body at the Department of Radiology of the Catholic University of Louvain (KU Leuven) (Belgium) directed by prof. Guy Marchal (2000).

On July 08, 1996 he obtained a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Messina, with 110/110 cum laude.

He is author of about 287 scientific publications on topics related to SSD MED/36 – Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Therapy (SCOPUS h-index: 31).

He is part of numerous national and international research groups. Participates/has participated in various Research Projects (PSC/POS, PNRR, PON, PRIN, FAR, FFABR, PRA) and experimental clinical protocols. Editor of indexed scientific journals. Reviewer of numerous scientific journals, for issues related to Diagnostic Imaging. Member of Scientific Committees of National Congresses. Member of the technical-scientific Committee of the AIMN molecular imaging study group. Former member of the Board of the SIRM Computer Radiology National Study Section and of the SIRM Sicilian Regional Group. He was responsible for the SIRM National Reference Center for practical training in cardiac MR. Member of the following Scientific Societies: Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (AIMN), Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM), European Society of Radiology (ESR), European Society for Hybrid, Molecular and Translational Imaging (ESHI- MT). Member of the “Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti” - Class II: Medical-Biological Sciences - Messina. Speaker/Moderator by invitation to numerous Congresses and Conferences.

He carries out medical assistance activities at the U.O.C. of Nuclear Medicine of the AOU Policlinico G. Martino di Messina, where he mainly deals with PET/CT diagnostics with various radiopharmaceuticals.
