Allegoria dell'Italia nell'ode pascoliana Ad hospites (PE XIV)

Il contributo offre un’interpretazione del carme Ad hospites di Giovanni Pascoli, XIV dei Poematia et epigrammata. Viene analizzato lo svolgimento lirico e figurativo dell’allegoria dell’Italia-mater, mediante un adeguato collegamento con testi contigui del periodo messinese del poeta ma anche con la tradizione politico-civile che da Petrarca conduce a Leopardi e allo svolgimento risorgimentale del tema. The essay provides an interpretation of the poetry Ad hospites by Giovanni Pascoli, XIV of the Poematia et epigrammata. The lyrical and figurative development of the allegory of the Italy-Mater is analysed, through an adequate connection with related texts from the poet’s Messina period, but also with the political and civil tradition leading from Petrarch to Leopardi, until the reformulation of the theme in the Risorgimento period
