Nickel sensitization has been described as causing allergic contact dermatitis (ACD), systemic contact dermatitis (SCD) and systemic nickel allergy syndrome (SNAS). The systemic form of nickel sensitization is already well known but this review is focused on giving allergists, dermatologists and internists as well as to nutritionists and dieticians more information on how to clinically suspect systemic nickel sensitization and which is the correct diagnostic and treatment management.
