418 - AUTOPSIE (AL)

Course program Necropsies (15 hours) Perform safely necropsies on different animal species cadavers, including sampling, and conservation of organs and tissues and transport to lab, necropsy report, safe disposal of organs and carcasses, as follows (single students or small group of students, according to the examined cadaver): - companion animals (dogs and cats): 4 or more (if possible), at least in 2:2 ratio; - equids (horses or donkey): 2 - exotic pets: at least 1 - bovines: at least 1, better 2 - small ruminants: at least 1 - pigs: at least 2 - poultry and rabbits: at least 3, of which at least 1 for each species Diagnostic pathology (3 hours) - Recognise and evaluate pathological findings performing specific description and examination (VTH) - Obtain and handle samples for pathological diagnosis (VTH) - Use laboratory Equipment, perform standard and/or ancillary tests and evaluate findings from diagnostic tests (VTH; Unit of Pathology)
