Epileptic pseudoseizures: Diagnostic issues

Epileptic seizures characterized by fear and anxiety are often difficult to differentiate from non epileptic anxiety and mood disorders. We report 2 female patients affected by symptomatic temporal lobe epilepsy, presenting epileptic seizures characterized by negative emotions. In both cases the correct diagnosis was achieved with the video-EEG recording of paroxysmal events.
