Systemic mastocytosis associated with recurrent paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

Systemic mastocytosis is a rare and chronic disorder characterized by diffuse mast-cell infiltration of multiple organs. We report the case of a 57-year-old man who presented atrial fibrillation during an anaphylactic shock. We consiered it of interest to report this case as it suggests that cardiac anaphylaxis may occur during a systemic mastocytosis attack.
