Abstract:
The article analyses the evolution of the studies conducted by Italian scholars of comparative
public law over the last quarter of a century. In particular, the author argues that before the
emergence of the 2008 crisis, most research projects in the field of economic law did not
show a particular aptitude in favour of an interdisciplinary approach (mainly aimed at en-
hancing the contribution of political economy). It was the economic and financial crisis that
prompted the more general public debate to reflect in depth on the economic order, with the
consequence that studies in the area of law-economics also took a tendency to reflect criti-
cally on the relationship between the economic system and the legal-political system, with
the need to resort to an interdisciplinary approach.
