Proton beam dosimetry based on the graphene oxide reduction and Raman spectroscopy

Articolo
Data di Pubblicazione:
2022
Abstract:
μRaman spectra of graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) foils, subjected to 2 ÷ 3 MeV proton beam irradiations in vacuum at low and high fluence, have been investigated. The spectra detailed analysisin dicates that the characteristic D and G peaks yields ratio, the area of the D” peak, located between D and G, the G peak full width at half maximum, the C–H band area and full width at half maximum are functions of the absorbed dose. The D and the D" peaks presence is indicative of the disorder generated in the target by the ion beam. All these observations suggest some useful indexes to read the proton absorbed dose by the irradiated rGO foils. Therefore, these GO based foils can be employed as dosimeters for proton beams in a large range of absorbed dose, from about 100 Gy up to about 114 MGy, within which Raman signals respond linearly
