Abstract:
The field of corporeality holds a great position in the philosophical reflection between the modern tradition and the contemporary one, especially by authors like Descartes, Nietzsche and Husserl. The main purpose of this work is the investigation of body significance and its centrality into these philosophers’ meditation, as one of the most important topics dealt with by contemporary thought. That is the reason why we are going to question about the nature and the complexity of body: What is body? How much belongs to us? Is it simply an objective representation? Is it really detached from the experience? Is it a biological dimension separate from the spiritual sphere of the human nature? Is it just the fleshly body as sarx or a kind of physiological entity called soma?
